Growth

The beginning of something lasting

In 1986, Maredith Management opened its doors in Southern Maryland with a clear purpose. We believed then what we believe now: that community and HOA associations deserve management that listens

1986

Founded in Maryland

The company started with a commitment to serve associations with integrity and personal attention. We built our reputation one community at a time.

2001

New chapter begins

In 2001, Candice Kelly acquired Gerhardt & Associates and began building what would become a respected, relationship-driven community management company. What started as a small kitchen-table operation grew through decades of dedication, innovation, and personal service to the communities it served.

A strong advocate for education and professionalism within the industry, Candice was an active CAI member who embraced evolving technology and modern systems long before they became standard practice. Her leadership helped shape the company’s reputation for responsiveness, integrity, and community care for more than two decades.

The company was renamed Maredith Management — a name inspired by Candice’s grandmothers, Marie and Edith — reflecting the warmth, legacy, and personal relationships at the heart of the business.

2024

Joining the Communitas Network

In 2024, Maredith Management joined the Communitas network, marking an exciting new chapter of growth and opportunity for the company. The partnership expanded operational resources, technology, and regional support while preserving the relationship-driven service and community-first values that had defined Maredith for decades. With the support of Communitas, the company continued expanding its footprint beyond Maryland and Virginia and into the Pennsylvania market, bringing its personalized management approach to even more communities across the region.
